Yoga Bingo Challenge
Duration
3–4 Weeks
Best For
Yoga studios
Primary Goal
Build Community + Encourage Class Variety + Improve Retention
Overview
Yoga studios have a legitimate reason to be cautious about challenges: competition runs against the culture of the practice, and a leaderboard can feel wrong in a room built on non-attachment. A bingo board avoids that entirely. There's no ranking, no comparison — just an invitation to explore.
Frame it that way in your copy. This is a curiosity challenge, not a fitness challenge. The squares should include restorative and yin classes, workshops, meditation, and off-the-mat practice alongside the vinyasa and heated classes.
The practical payoff is real: students who have tried three teachers and two styles are far more likely to stay when their usual Wednesday class changes.
Goal
Invite students to explore new styles, teachers and class times, deepen their practice beyond asana, and build connection within the studio community.
How It Works
- 1Create a 5x5 board with 24 squares across styles, teachers, community and off-the-mat practice.
- 2Students join from their phone and mark squares as they go.
- 3Front desk staff can confirm class-based squares at check-in.
- 4Each completed line earns a milestone reward.
- 5Completing the board earns a larger reward such as a workshop credit.

| First Bingo | Yoga strap, eye pillow or a small mala |
|---|---|
| Two Bingos | $15 boutique credit or a guest pass |
| Full Board | Free workshop, a mat, or a month of unlimited practice |
Workshop credits are the strongest yoga reward — they cost you very little marginal capacity and often introduce students to a teacher or format they then book regularly.
Promotion Ideas
- Describe it as an invitation to explore, not a competition — the framing matters here more than anywhere.
- Place QR signage at the shoe cubbies and the front desk.
- Have teachers mention it warmly at the close of class rather than the start.
- Feature a different style or teacher each week in your email and Stories.
- Celebrate completed boards quietly and personally — a note and a gift, not a leaderboard.
Tips for Success
- Include restorative, yin and meditation squares so the board doesn't read as a push toward heat and intensity.
- Keep it to three or four weeks.
- Add a few off-the-mat squares to reflect a full practice.
- Use milestone rewards so students feel acknowledged early.
- Avoid any public ranking — recognition should be individual.
