Studio Bingo Challenge
Duration
4 Weeks
Best For
Any boutique fitness studio or gym
Primary Goal
Build Community + Improve Retention + Encourage Class Variety
Overview
Studio Bingo is the most versatile engagement challenge a boutique studio can run. Instead of rewarding only the members who already show up five times a week, a bingo board rewards a mix of behaviors: attendance, trying something new, bringing a friend, and simply being part of the community.
Because every square is a small, achievable action, members who normally sit out competitive challenges will play. That is the whole point — the members you most want to re-engage are the ones who would never win a leaderboard.
It works in any format of studio, which makes it the right first challenge to run if you have never done one before. Run it once, see which squares your members gravitate toward, then build a more specialized board next quarter.
Goal
Increase overall participation, get quieter members back through the door, and build community by rewarding a wide range of behaviors — not just raw class count.
How It Works
- 1Create a 5x5 bingo board with 24 activity squares and one free center square.
- 2Members join from their phone and see their own board.
- 3Each time a member completes an activity, it gets marked — by staff at the front desk or by member self-report.
- 4Completing a row, column or diagonal earns a milestone reward.
- 5Completing the full board earns the grand prize, and every completed line adds entries to the end-of-challenge drawing.

Suggested Rewards
| First Bingo (any line) | Free class pass or a studio water bottle |
|---|---|
| Two Bingos | $15 retail credit |
| Full Board | One month free, or a premium prize bundle |
Match the reward to what your members actually buy. If retail moves slowly, use service rewards (a free class, a guest pass) instead — they cost you less and drive more visits.
Promotion Ideas
- Print a QR code sign for the front desk and locker rooms so members can join in seconds.
- Send a launch email the day before the challenge starts, then a mid-point progress nudge.
- Post the board (or a progress screenshot) to Instagram Stories twice a week.
- Ask instructors to announce the challenge in the first 60 seconds of every class.
- Have the front desk ask arriving members if they've joined yet.
Tips for Success
- Keep it to four weeks. Longer challenges lose momentum in week five.
- Mix easy squares with stretch squares so nobody feels locked out on day one.
- Use milestone rewards — most members will never fill the whole board, and they still deserve a win.
- Post a weekly leaderboard or progress update so the challenge stays visible.
- Write every square so a member can tell at a glance whether they completed it.
