Pilates Bingo Challenge
Duration
3–4 Weeks
Best For
Pilates studios
Primary Goal
Build Community + Encourage Class Variety + Improve Retention
Overview
Pilates members are creatures of habit in a way that few other studio populations are. They find one instructor, one class time and one apparatus, and they stay there for years. That loyalty is wonderful for retention until that instructor's Tuesday 9am is full and the member has nowhere else they feel comfortable going.
A Pilates bingo board solves that quietly. Instead of telling members to branch out, you give them a reason to try the 6am reformer class or the mat class they've never considered. Once they've tried three instructors, your schedule flexibility problem largely disappears.
It also surfaces demand. If half your board fills the 'try a Tower class' square, you've learned something about what to add to next quarter's schedule.
Goal
Encourage members to attend more frequently, explore different instructors, apparatus and class formats, and build community across class times.
How It Works
- 1Create a 5x5 board with 24 Pilates-specific squares and a free center square.
- 2Members join from their phones and track their own progress.
- 3Front desk staff or the member marks squares as activities are completed.
- 4Completing a row, column or diagonal earns a milestone reward.
- 5Completing the full board earns the grand prize — typically a private session.

Private sessions are the ideal Pilates grand prize: they cost you one instructor hour, they're genuinely desirable, and they frequently convert into recurring private bookings.
Promotion Ideas
- Put a QR sign in the reformer room and at the front desk.
- Have instructors mention the board at the start of class — Pilates instructors have unusually strong influence over their regulars.
- Email the board image so members can plan which squares to chase.
- Post 'square of the week' content on Instagram to drive traffic to specific class times.
- Remind members at the desk when they're one square from a line.
Tips for Success
- Keep the challenge between three and four weeks.
- Include at least four squares that require a different instructor or class time — that's the whole point of the board.
- Balance apparatus squares against studio capacity; don't drive everyone to your one Chair class.
- Use milestone rewards so members don't need to finish the board to win something.
- Keep every square in plain language a new member would understand.
