12 Days of Fitness Holiday Challenge

    Duration

    12 Days (early-to-mid December)

    Best For

    Studios fighting December attendance drop-off

    Primary Goal

    Increase Attendance + Build Community

    Overview

December is the hardest month to hold attendance. Members are traveling, shopping and eating, and your schedule is disrupted by holiday closures. A long challenge will not survive that; a twelve-day sprint will.

The format is a daily reveal: each day has one activity, announced that morning. The novelty is the engine — members check in to see what today's task is, and that alone drives visits. Not every day has to be a class, which is what makes it survivable during a busy month.

Run it in the first half of December, before travel peaks, and finish with a party or a prize draw that gives members a reason to come in one more time before the year ends.

    Goal

Hold attendance through the holiday slump, create daily touchpoints during a distracted month, and end the year with a community moment.

    How It Works

    1. 1Choose twelve consecutive days in early-to-mid December.
    2. 2Announce one activity each morning by email, app notification or Instagram Story.
    3. 3Members complete the day's activity and mark it off.
    4. 4Every completed day earns entries; hitting 6, 9 and 12 days unlocks milestone rewards.
    5. 5Draw prizes at a studio holiday event on day twelve.

    Twelve daily activity ideas

    • Day 1 — Take any class to kick off the challenge
    • Day 2 — Bring a friend or a guest
    • Day 3 — Try a class format you haven't taken this year
    • Day 4 — Wear holiday gear to class (photo counts)
    • Day 5 — Take an early morning class
    • Day 6 — Donate a toy or canned good at the front desk
    • Day 7 — Take a class with an instructor you've never trained with
    • Day 8 — Do 12 minutes of mobility or stretching
    • Day 9 — Take two classes in one day, or attend on back-to-back days
    • Day 10 — Write a review or share the studio on social
    • Day 11 — Introduce yourself to someone new in class
    • Day 12 — Attend the finale class and holiday party

    Suggested Rewards

6 DaysHoliday studio merch item or a free guest pass
    9 Days$20 retail credit
All 12 DaysGrand prize drawing — free month, gear bundle or partner gift basket

Small daily giveaways cost little and drive the daily check-in habit. A gift card raffled each day keeps members watching for the announcement.

    Promotion Ideas

    • Tease the challenge for a full week in late November so members plan around it.
    • Reveal each day's activity in an Instagram Story and a morning email at the same time daily.
    • Decorate the front desk with the twelve-day board and QR signage.
    • Give daily shout-outs to members who completed the previous day.
    • Turn day twelve into an actual event with food — attendance on the last day is your best community moment of the year.

    Tips for Success

    • Run it early in December, before travel and holiday parties take over.
    • Include non-class days so travel doesn't knock members out of the challenge.
    • Keep the daily reveal at the same time every morning — the ritual is what drives it.
    • Add a charitable day; December giving squares get shared more than anything else on the board.
    • End with an in-person event and announce your January challenge there.
